3 Tips for women looking to start a career in Tech

May 9, 2023

To further support women in tech, we reached out to Marianna Hadjiandoniou, Founder and Director of PERHA Group to share her tips for women looking to start their careers in the tech industry.

1.       Don’t be afraid to be yourself. The tech industry can often feel like a male-dominated space, but it’s important to remember that diversity is key to innovation. Be confident in your abilities and bring your unique perspective to the table.

2.       Build a support system. It’s crucial to surround yourself with people who believe in you and support your career aspirations. Seek mentors and allies within your organization and beyond, and don’t be afraid to ask for help or guidance.

3.       Be brave, not perfect. The tech industry is constantly evolving, so it’s important to be adaptable and willing to take risks. Focus on your progress and growth; take advantage of training programs and resources offered by your employer, or pursue additional education and certifications to stay ahead of the curve. Be brave in your pursuits, and you’ll be surprised at how much you can achieve.

As Marianna Hadjiandoniou suggests, it is also important for the organizations to reaffirm their commitment to promoting a culture of inclusivity and equality, where everyone can thrive and reach their full potential, regardless of gender or any other factor.
